View from our campsite. The picture doesn't capture it very well, but the lighting and moss on the trees made things look kind of surreal.
Our cars at the campsite.
The next morning, prepping for the ride.
Judy gets the empty panniers...
...while I get the fully loaded trailer.
We got somewhat lost as the trail became more and more unkept.
After backtracking a bit, we found the trail again. Fireroads are much easier to ride, especially when you're hauling around all your gear!
Further along the trail. Things were pretty green.
Switching off. I get the panniers while Judy gets the trailer, empty of course.
Judy poses for a profile shot of her with the trailer.
Taking a lunch break. Actually, we ended up grazing every hour or so.
Slow grind up the fireroad...
...with walls of trees on each side.
This was actually a really nice ride with a lot of pretty scenery.
A few cars went by, but we were surprised to not see any other bikers or hikers during our entire ride.
22.4 miles. Not too shabby considering the loads we were hauling.
Ahhh... just reward for a full day of biking.
Getting ready for a long ride the next morning.
Cool shot of some clouds and the valley below.
We decided to not bring the trailer and panniers and instead try to get in lots of miles.
We went all the way down to Webber Lake, but didn't hang around too long because the mosquitoes were out in force.
Slogging up the hill on the way back, you can look back to see Webber Lake through the trees.
Almost 36 miles! That's definitely a record for Judy and me!
