We drove to Tahoe, had lunch, and started our ride. It was really hot that day!

According to the map, this road was supposed to cross the TRT.

Well, we missed the crossing and ended up riding to Watson Lake which wasn't so bad since we were still getting miles in.

Some people at the lake gave us directions and we finally get on the TRT.

Nice view of Lake Tahoe from the TRT.

The TRT gets a bit technical in places. Fun for me, but Judy ending up walking a lot of it.

Fortunately for Judy, the technical stuff didn't last too long. Here, Judy emerges from the single track section.

This was the turnoff that we passed which hits the TRT. We actually stopped here on the way up, but it's not evident that it connects with the TRT unless you go in a ways.

Despite repeated encouragement, this deer refused to play chicken with us.

18.04 miles. Not too shabby considering that we're at elevation.

Most of the campsites were full except for the Tahoe Valley Campground. It wasn't as secluded as we would have liked, but all we really did was pull in and sleep so it wasn't a big deal.

The next day, we hit the TRT from Big Meadow. The beginning was a bit technical so Judy didn't enjoy it much. Here she is crossing a creek.

Judy wasn't enjoying the ride, especially with all the bugs, so we drove a bit further to hit the TRT from a different point.

IMG_0701

It was really hot, the bugs were out in force, and we were kind of tired from the previous day so we didn't ride for very long.

A good training weekend overall, but we've still got to do quite a bit more before our trip.
