Doing exercises at fast speed has, I think, two primary benefits. One is that it becomes more of a cardio workout, and two, it helps develop power. Physics flashback: the work done is the same for a slow squat or a fast squat, but the power (work/time) is greater for a fast squat. When it comes to many sports, power is more beneficial than sheer strength (think jumping for example).

I&#039;m blown away by how much upper body strength those women have.  What is the benefit of doing weight-bearing exercises at a fast speed (vs. slowly and not using any momentum)?</description>
