Redpoint Website

This is a site I created for Redpoint Engineering. It is more of a preliminary, rough-cut rather than a finished product. Only a few of the pages are present (not all the links work), and even those are not “true” web pages, but instead just a bunch of sliced gif’s. Despite the incompleteness, what exists is enough to provide a good feel for what the finished product would be like. The “look and feel” of the website is intact as well as some of the key pages, but quite a bit more work would have been involved to finish the site to the point of being presentable to the world.

I think the look and feel of the site is very unique (I’m pretty proud of it!) and is very fitting for a mechanical engineering services firm. I particularly like the splash page - it’s pretty cool. I suppose I could have made the splash animation using Flash instead of an animated gif, but at that point in time, I didn’t have the tools to do so. Even without Flash, however, I think the animation looks fairly smooth and loads quickly enough. And of course, a big advantage of animated gif’s over Flash is that they are more universal (no plug-in required) and pretty much work on just about any web-surfing computer out there.

You can check out the site here.
